Prisila Vazquez-Nava is an interdisciplinary artist based in Denver, Colorado. Embracing the role of a perpetual learner, her practice spans a diverse array of materials and she is constantly seeking the methods that resonate most profoundly with her evolving interests. A variety of subjects drive her curiosity, including punk fashion, facial features, and internet culture.
Born in the United States to Mexican immigrants, Prisila developed an early fascination with cross-culturalism and the Chicano identity and is developing the means to visually express her experience. She currently studies art at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she is honing her skills and exploring various techniques, such as in photography, ceramics, and sculpture.
Prisila’s work has been exhibited throughout a variety of local Denver art spaces, such as Blue Tile Gallery and Stella’s Coffee Haus. Additionally, she is an active member in the Chameleon Art Collective and gallery assistant at the Center for Visual Art that reflects her commitment to community engagement.
When not creating, Prisila enjoys attending local punk shows and spending time with her loved ones, which often inspire her art. She continues to explore new ideas and techniques, aiming to push the boundaries of her creative practice.
